You might say that the "roots" of Ed Sage's business, Sage Landscape Contractors and Tree Experts, are firmly grounded in his lineage. Born into a family of Welsh descent, his ancestors were among the first to settle in the Warren-Watchung region of Somerset County, New Jersey, and served the local community working as farmers, builders, educators, and dentists. The original Sage homestead consisted of 240 acres in Warren, and although modern-day residences have since been constructed on the old historic property, the original farmstead house remains. To this day, much of Ed Sage’s family still resides in the area and his father, Ed Sage Jr., carries on the agrarian tradition by maintaining a "gentleman's farm" on his property.
